How do I make a matching gift?

Double or triple your gift to High Point University and make your gift go even further.  Many companies will even match gifts made by retirees and spouses of employees.  To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please ask the Human Resource Department.  If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer and send it to HPU completed and signed with your gift.

Why does HPU need to raise more money?

High Point University continues to benefit from the generosity of alumni, parents and friends.  While the biggest portion of the University’s budget comes from tuition, donations supply the transformational dollars that make us distinct. The University strives to provide every student with an extraordinary education in an inspiring environment with caring people.  The institution cannot do it alone.  We must provide our students every opportunity – studying aboard in China to live and learn a new culture, musical performances in world renown music halls,  and provide access to the best technology and learning environments available.

Why is donor participation important?

Individuals make gifts in different sizes from $5 to $500,000.  Your participation is the main priority.  These gifts together will build a strong foundation of support and will make an even larger impact.  We take pride in being able to report to other foundations and corporations that a large portion of the University’s giving percentage comes from those closest to us. Your participation at any level is critical.

What does not qualify as an HPU Fund gift?
  • Gifts to restricted funds, such as an endowed scholarship.
  • Panther Club membership.
